Bassano del Grappa: white asparagus territory

Fine wares

Museo della Ceramica - gentile concessione dell’Archivio di Vicenza è Bassano is one of the capitals of the Italian craftwork ceramics industry, a town which has been producing ceramics since the Middle Ages. Its ceramics are both refined and prestigious, with characteristic decorative motifs. The history of the art is detailed in the fascinating Ceramics Museum housed in the 18th century Palazzo Sturm, overlooking the Brenta river, with its splendid collections of ceramics, porcelain and pottery (approximately 2000 pieces ) from the 13th century to the present day. Shops in the town centre sell white and decorated porcelain made by local craftsmen and small local workshops.
