All our solidarity to Giovanna Guidetti, owner of Osteria La Fefa

We would like to express our support for our colleagues, both members and non-members, in the earthquake areas of Emilia Romagna.

Our sympathy and support go in particular to Giovanna Guidetti, guiding spirit and hands-on manager of the Osteria la Fefa in Finale Emilia, and her family, whose restaurant is an integral part of the town and the focus of its gastronomic culture. It is in the centre of this charming little town, which is known as the “Venice of the Este family” because it is on the Po river waterways network.
Unfortunately the recent earthquake in Emilia Romagna has damaged many of the historic buildings in the town; its castle – the Castello delle Rocche, its 14th century tower, its cathedral, its Renaissance palazzos, and the Osteria La Fefa, which has been declared temporarily unsafe.
People come from far away to enjoy the Osteria’s specialities, because Finale Emilia is poised on the cusp of three Italian regions: Emilia, Veneto and Lombardy, and the local cuisine is a unique blend of influences from all three. We are sure that the restaurant will be just as popular as ever as soon as it reopens, we hope in the very near future.

Giovanna Guidetti is both a strong woman and a brave one; we send her our very best wishes that her restaurant will be back on its feet as soon as possible and want her to know that we are all here for her, ready with any help she may need.
