Taverna La Piazza

Sapporo is a major city in the mountainous island of Hokkaido. It’s the fi fth biggest city in Japan and is well known as it hosted the Winter Olympic Games in 1972. Its territory has a strong farming vocation and provides large varieties of products for catering.
Among the many curiosities there is this Italian restaurant, designed to look like a Tuscan rural home, with portico
and terracotta tiles.

Buon Ricordo speciality

Ossobuco alla chiantigiana

The menu at Taverna’s offers traditional dishes from all over Italy, from spaghetti alla carbonara, to fish soup, but it is mainly Tuscan cuisine oriented. Following the tradition of an enormous beefsteak à la Florentine, here it is served an appetizing ossobuco beef from local cattle breeding. As to the wine, the list is very good and a glass of Vino Nobile from Montepulciano is recommended.
